How can I Auto-Dial on Option 11 via ethernet port |
|
|
I currently have a Meridian Option 11 and use analog lines connected to
modem cards then to dialer/headsets to do auto-dialing (software uses AT
commands to dial with modem then agent must goes off-hook before the modem
releases). I want to switch to 2616 digital phones. How can I use the
Ethernet port on the switch to dial? I once used our application on a Avia
switch where I was able to send a command over a TCP/IP session to the
switch (via a server?) that told a particular extension to dial a particular
number and it worked great. I know there is a hardware piece that can be
put on the 2616 to give it a data port that accepts AT style commands but I
want a server based solution so I don't have to upgrade all my 2616 phones.
I have been told I should be able to do this with TAPI server but I cant
find anyone who actually has and can explain how to do it. Would love to
employ the services of someone who can do this for me, or at least send me
in the right direction. It is unbelievable that Nortel dealers don't have a
clue on anything like this.
Thanks,
