Echo on Nortel Norstar |
|
|
Hi,
I have a nortel norstar-plus modular system. I have 2 PRI cards in
it. I'm running Synphony (or however they spell it) for the ACD.
The problem I am having is that calls will have echos on them usually
coming out of Queue or when lifted from on hold, but sometimes this echo
developes on its own without being placed on hold.
The "echo" is this: The caller will be very quiet in the background
while the person who is talking can hear themselves very loudly as what
they say "echos" about half a second after they say it. This echo
eventually fades away about 10 - 15 seconds into the call and all is
normal again.
This problem happens to people in the ACD queues and also just normal
people who aren't in the Q, so I'm thinking it is not an ACD issue.
The phone system uses two PRIs.. the first takes incoming calls and
works up and the second takes outgoing calls and works down (both would
meet in the middle if ever that many lines were in use).
I have swapped PRIs (to determine if its a PRI issue).
I have swapped PRI Cards (to determine if it was a PRI card).
So unless I'm having issues on BOTH lines or BOTH cards I dunno what
the issue is.
I have tried rebooting the whole system but the issue seems to still
occurre the next day.
Any thoughts on where to go/what to look for?

there is nothing wrong with norstar its a frequent problem with your
voice reflecting back from the provider"t1" there is no setting to
change no parts to swap out i have sites where its so bad you actually
echo ...cant carry on conversation..other times just makes voice sound
fat"barely echo but not normal" this only is heard on norstar not far
end...not acd issue...try calling and setting up vendor meet with your
pri provider and your norstar vendor to clear up

Have you a 4.x software release? If so, check with Nortel. I think there is
a software upgrade to correct this issue.

4.x on what? ACD? (it's not just an ACD issue as it happens on calls
that aren't in the ACD group). VoiceMail? Or the KSU itself?
