Nortel ASN Bandwidth Speed question. |
|
|
Hello all;
A question ... I have a Nortel ASN router with 3 100TX base modules in
it,
which are broken out to three different segments. When someone tries
to copy
a file from one of these segments to the other, the bandwidth across
these
segments seems very slow (say 300-400 kbps). When copying a file on
the same
segment, the file copies much faster (4,000 kbps). All hardware in our
facility is 100kbps based.
Does anyone know if there are setting in the Site Manager software
that may be set that would limit the bandwidth limit between these
100TX cards? I can't seem to find anything that would cause such a
dramatic slow-down of communication between the segments.
Thanks. |

Make sure you do not have any kind of duplex mis-match. Have the router set
to 100-Full the device connected it to your LAN set to 100-Half, could have
some nasty results. When in doubt, force the connection at both sides.

Ah... YES! That was it! All but one of our BayStack 350 switches was
set to 100-Full. That one pesky switch was at 100-Half for the Router
connection! I know we set it to 100-Full when it was installed, but at
some point, it must have lost it's cookies, and switched to Half.
Thanks! |
